Happy Healthy New Year

Happy New Year, friends! I thought I’d kick off 2018 with a list of my favorite wellness products I’ve used for the last few months. As some of you know, I mostly use plant-based cleaning & personal care products, as they are safer & better for the environment. Most conventional cleaning & personal care products sold in the US contain harmful ingredients that can have negative long-term effects on your health. As someone who is prone to migraines, which are often triggered by the synthetic fragrances found in heavily scented lotions, cleaning sprays, etc., using products with essential oils and safe, natural ingredients just makes sense. I encourage you to try these products if you’re looking to start your year on a healthy note!

Here are a handful of my favorite products I highly recommend:

1. Amareta Pure Peace Clarifying Serum

I am blown away by Amareta’s Pure Peace Clarifying Serum. I’ve had my bouts with hormonal breakouts for the last year or so (I’m stoked, as you can imagine) and this stuff has been such a miracle product. I put it on immediately after a shower or washing my face, and it instantly calms & soothes my skin. After just a few uses, my skin became more hydrated, clearer, & smoother! The scent is light and fresh, the formula does not contain any synthetic ingredients, and the high-quality packaging is luxurious.

2. Makes 3 Organics Lavender Miracle Balm

Makes 3 Organics’ Lavender Miracle Balm goes everywhere with me. It’s all-natural formula is made of a few simple organic ingredients, including coconut oil, shea butter, bees wax, & lavender oil. I use it to nourish my hands (especially in this dry SF weather), tame my fly-aways, hydrate my lips, create a dewy finish on my cheekbones — you name it! Makes 3 Organics is a small company based in Santa Barbara that offers a large variety of certified organic, EWG-verified health & beauty products I encourage you to check out.

3. Humble Brands Deodorant

I love to run & work out, but often find that most deodorants irritate my skin &/or contain harmful ingredients that affect my body (endocrine disruptors, yuck) & the fabrics of my workout clothes. Humble deodorants are safe, effective, and smell great! They’re made of just a few natural ingredients, including organic olive oil, organic bees wax, organic cornstarch, and essential oils. I personally love the Lavender, and Alec uses the Cedarwood. You can either buy as a one-time purchase or subscribe & save. To start your subscription, click here!

4. Mount Lai Jade Facial Roller

Mount Lai’s jade roller has been such a game changer in my wellness routine. I put it in the fridge before I hop in the shower, then take it out and roll it on my face to apply my face serums. It reduces any puffiness and inflammation, promotes lymphatic drainage, and increases circulation. There’s a wider end for your cheeks, forehead, and jawline, and a smaller end for your eye & nose areas. I highly recommend adding this tool to make your daily skin routine feel like a spa experience!

5. Seed Phytonutrients Body Care

Seed Phytonutrients is a Pennsylvania-based company that uses hand-picked seeds among other organic ingredients to create personal care products. The seeds and other ingredients are sustainably sourced from local organic farms and the products are packaged in 100% recycled paper. I use a variety of their products, including the face moisturizer & body lotion, and they all smell amazing. Check out their products & cute pictures of their farm!

I’d love to hear what natural products you’re using & loving in the comments below!
